To help integrated natural resource management (INRM) research "deliver the goods" for many of the world's poor over a large area and in a timely manner, the authors suggest a problem-solving approach that facilitates the scaling out of relevant agricultural practices. They propose seven ways to foster scaling out: (1) develop more attractive practices and technologies through participatory research (2) balance supply-driven approaches with resource user demands, (3) use feedback to redefine the research agenda, (4) encourage support groups and networks for information sharing, (5) facilitate negotiation among stakeholders, (6) inform policy change and institutional development, and (7) make sensible use of information management tools, including models... |

Tanzanian researchers of the on-going SAREC/Sida-sponsored project on Human Responses and Contribution to Environmental Change (HRAC) have focused their research on a narrow strip of the central coast of Tanzania. The area under investigation is specifically between Kisiju to the north and the Rufiji Delta to the south. Survey work was also extended to the off-shore islands including Kwale, Koma and Mafia. The preliminary intention was to look for sites that could provide light to the whole question of environmental change and its human contribution. |

During the rainy season of the ecuadorian coast (march 2012) in the study area including two environmental: Marine area and estuarine area. Were identified in Caraquez Bay the following species of benthic foraminifera: Bulimina pulchella, Cibicidea aknerianus, C. bertheloti, F. boueana, Elphidium articulatum, F. typical, Nonion pizarrense, Quinqueloculina lamarckiana, Rotalia beccarii, Triloculina globulosa, y Uvigerina incilis. These species correspond to the Pananmian zoogeographic province proposed by Boltovskoy (1965) and confirmed by Boltovskoy and Gualancañay (1975, 1986). |

The seasonal changes of heat and salt storages in the offshore water of the Red Sea were studied using a historical data collected from different cruises during the period from 1924 to 1998. The heat storage within water column of different depths exhibits a seasonal variability. The heat storage is low during winter and high during summer. Also, the heat storage increases from north to south. The maximum values of heat storage are found in the southern central part of the Red Sea. It reached about 29.9x109 J/m2 within the water column of 300m depth. The seasonal change of heat storage from the annual mean is negative during winter and spring, while it is positive during summer and autumn. It has higher values during winter and summer, while its value... |
